Side hustles that pay weekly have saved my behind before. We have all been there, where we needed extra money for the month but don’t have time to wait for the pay cycle 2-4 weeks from now.
These side hustles can increase your income and bring you closer to your financial goal. While figuring out my debt, one of the biggest things that helped me was increasing my income through side hustles.
This post explores the side hustles that pay weekly and help you decide on your next step.
Importance of a Side Hustle
To me, a side hustle is that critical second step to financial freedom; here is how I see it.
Get your personal finances in order -> Build a Side Hustle -> Use your side hustle experience and accumulated cash to build a business or boost your personal finance goals -> Financial Goal.
Obviously, that is a grossly undetailed list of steps, but it still holds. Side hustles were the first way I made money individually from employment.
Tutoring was the first side hustle I started, and I will never forget that first $21 I made. It was that $21 that made me realize my dream of financial freedom was possible.
From then on, I was obsessed with bringing in money from side hustles because that ability signified more than the money itself; it signified financial freedom.
How I Choose These Side Hustles
I accumulated a list of side hustles that pay weekly that I think would cover every reader. From things for beginners to more expert levels, this list has you covered.
As an active side hustler, I ordered them based on my experience with them and how I think they would fare in today’s world.
Most importantly, I learned that it doesn’t matter which side hustle you choose as long as you stick to it. Consistency is what transforms average into excellence.
The Side Hustles That Pay Weekly
Without further ado, here are the side hustles that pay weekly.
1. Tutoring
I can’t stress this enough; there is a reason this is first on the list. For most beginners, tutoring is the best side hustle that pays weekly.
During the shutdown of 2020, I had just graduated from university, and no one was even interested in pretending to hire me. During this time, tutoring saved me financially. Through tutoring, I could make a steady income and save up to move worldwide for my first career job.
Pros of Tutoring
- You can substantially increase your hourly rate if you tutor more than one student at a time.
- Almost everyone is qualified to do it; pick the topic you were good at during school and start.
- Your market is very well known.
- Relatively low cost.
- Can constantly reuse resources/preparations.
What You Will Need
- More patience than you could ever imagine- whether with the children or the parents.
- General personable skills and understanding of Human Nature.
- Access to their curriculum ahead of time.
I used my engineering background to tutor high school students in Math and Physics, and most of my students came through groups dedicated to moms.
I charged $ $30 per student per class and would usually have three students in each class ~$60 an hour if you factor in the prep time.
2. Drop Servicing
I am currently exploring this side hustle, one of the most lucrative side hustles that pay weekly.
Drop servicing is when you sell a service at a specific price and find another party willing to do it cheaper, pocketing the difference.
The only reason it isn’t number one on this list is that it isn’t beginner-friendly. While you don’t need to be an expert in your chosen niche, you do need to have general industry knowledge to manage the workflow.
Also, this is usually executed through a paid marketing technique, like Facebook ads. Learning about ads is not easy or cheap.
Pros of Drop Servicing
- After the initial learning period, it is partially independent of your time.
- You can pick between a wide range of niches.
- There is no need to do the actual work.
- Learn a skill that will help you in many ventures to come.
- Once figured out, it’s an easily repeatable system.
- High Potential to transform into a business/brand.
What You Will Need
- General Industry Knowledge in your given niche – including a general idea of pricing.
- Knowledge on how to utilize ads, I would start with Dara Denney’s YouTube channel.
- A professional Website.
- An LLC to reduce liability.
The good news is a lot of this is pretty straightforward. There are countless resources online to learn from and numerous examples of successful businesses to go off of.
3. Ride Share Driving/ Food Delivery
This is mainly due to the ease and accessibility of this side hustle. After waiting ten days for Uber to review your application, you can start earning ASAP.
According to Indeed.com, the average Uber driver makes ~ $20.09/hour, and they pay weekly.
Pros of Ride-Sharing
- You can start to make money instantly.
- It’s low commitment; you have complete control of your schedule.
What You Will Need
- A drivable, fully insured vehicle, ideally a 4-door.
- An in-state driving license.
- One year of driving experience or three years if you are under 25.
I did this in college for a bit. While it was beneficial when I needed quick cash, I did not like this side hustle. But that is mainly because I was in a college town, where most trips were from the bars and back.
4. Pet Sitting / Walking
If you love animals, this is a great side hustle, especially once you build a client base that continuously needs your services. No dog owner needs a dog walker only once.
According to Care.com, the average Dog walking hourly rate is $15.70
According to ZipRecruiter, the average pet-sitting hourly rate is $14.
Pros of Pet Sitting / Walking
- Revolving and continuous need of your service
- You can increase the hourly rate by increasing the number of animals sitting/walking.
- $0 cost.
- You spend a lot of time with cute animals…duh!
What You Will Need
- A strong love for animals.
- Experience dealing with animals.
5. Task Rabit / Fiverr
The best thing about Task Rabbit and Fiverr is the wide range of tasks; you can leverage your skill and passion in any field to accelerate your earnings.
The pay range for Task Rabbit ranges from $19/hour to $107/hour for software engineering.
The average hourly rate on Fiverr.com is $27.13/hour.
The one thing with Task Rabbit or Fiverr is that it can be challenging to get jobs initially, and you have to adjust your pricing to account for that until you have a better profile history.
Pros of TaskRabbit / Fiverr
- Flexible: You set your schedule.
- Pays you 3-5 days after the task is complete
- You can leverage almost any skill to increase your hourly rate.
What You Will Need
- A skill or a trade.
- Tools required for that trade
I suggest you do something that requires tools or skills you have that many others don’t. It can be as simple as owning a truck and offering a moving service.
6. Freelance Writing
Most people underestimate writing, even as a blogger. I didn’t fully know until I did some research.
I had no idea how much money some writers made from freelancing; expert-level writers charge $85/hour for their services.
Also, with the innovation in AI, with some cleverness and hard work, one can develop high-grade writing in half the time. Check out this LinkedIn article that dives into how AI has helped writers.

I had a copywriting friend do it by volunteering her work in a particular niche. If the potential client liked it, that would be great. If not, it was minor adjustments, then on to the next.
7. Stock Photography
So I was skeptical when I came across this in my research. However, the more I blog, the more I realize the importance of Stock Photos.
And yes, the market is relatively oversaturated; however, it’s oversaturated with many photos that look the same.
If you love to take unique and creative pictures constantly, this is a way to turn your hobby into a side hustle.
